5 Awful Movies about Evil Animals and Evil Kids On Netflix

05.10.2023 11:39 EST
Netflix has 3 terrible movies about evil animals and evil kids on their streaming service right now.

Animal movies are typically not great, but these 3 (The Meg (2018), 47 Meters Down Uncaged (2019), Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid (2004)) are particularly awful. Let us now look at each of these cases in more detail.

1. The Meg ( 2018 )

The Meg is a movie about a big shark and some people who do not know how to swim. We will start with the least bad of these 3 awful films, as it is only terrible, but not offensively bad.

A couple of dummies go on a diving trip for very little reason and get attacked by a megalodon. The evil shark is accidentally released during an underwater volcano experiment and then it hunts them down one by one because they are dumb enough to be swimming in the ocean instead of at their local pool where there are no killer sharks. The meg ends up stranded by itself after it eats all the meaty humans that disturbed its habitat, but then must fight another megalodon that happens to be around when everyone decides to go exploring the soon-to-be-flooded area. The shark doesnt win that fight, but its still around for some reason at the end of the movie when two kids who dont know any better jump off a boat and sink to the bottom of the ocean next to a megalodon skull.

3. 47 Meters Down: Uncaged ( 2019 )

The first film was about a shipwrecked submarine crew hunting for food and fighting other dangerous sea creatures like really big crabs and jellyfish, while also trying to avoid the shark they knew was around and hungry for tasty peoples meat. The sequel is about 4 girls who go on vacation together to Mexico or maybe some other tropical country because that seems fun, then all of a sudden someone says “we should go diving” and all of a sudden they are diving in a cage. A really, really bad idea that people enjoy for some reason.

One girl gets a fish stuck in her ear and then she is attacked by a shark because she had a fish stuck in her ear. The other three girls try to figure out how to get out of the water before their air runs out with no help from anyone on the boat they were supposed to be vacationing from or any person who might happen to see them floating around waving their arms at each other like drowning idiots without makeup on. During this time, one girl almost dies from jellyfish stings all over her body and another dies from banging her head underwater. They try to fix up an old rusty metal ladder that is in the bottom of the boat, but it is hard to do when youre underwater breathing through a scuba thing. The shark gets into the cage with them because sharks can just really, really easily pull open big metal doors that are meant to keep them out with their mouths (because most people who use cages for animals know not to make it “easy” for animals to get at something they want like food).

5. Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid ( 2004 )

There are some people who want to make a drug with snake venom because science is stupid and they make it in this movie, but they fail to tell the people watching this movie that it is also really dangerous. The snakes get loose and eat everyone on this films cast list except for the girl who wakes up after being knocked out by one of the Anacondas so she can go find help or something at least five minutes after she wakes up which doesnt seem like enough time to do anything really important.

The two main characters escape from being eaten by avoiding being eaten instead of fighting back or getting into a boat or doing anything else heroic since that would defeat the point of them being in danger in the first place. They swim through a swamp, dont bother to take off their fancy clothes because there are no dry cleaners in swamps obviously even though they have helicopters and boats to get out of the water if they wanted to.
